Sustaining a Traumatic Brain Injury can be devastating for both the individual and their family and friends. A TBI often leads to an array of psychological changes, ranging from subtle, temporary lapses in ability and behaviour, to a profound and permanent reduction in basic skills and loss of control of emotion and behaviour. Access to clinical psychology specialists is often limited outside of the Major Trauma Centre, and so understanding and managing challenging behaviour is an essential part of nursing these patients in both the acute and rehabilitation settings.
This study day is for Healthcare Professionals caring for patients with TBI in the East of England.
